Since winning the Stars of the Future competition in January 2001, Prior Life has started to make their mark on the local music scene in South Florida. Their performance at SunFest 2001 received critical acclaim from the Palm Beach Post. Says Post music writer Charles Passy, This [band] plays rock with a combination of attitude and despair. Their songs, written by lead guitarist Sean Snowden, have a touch of Nirvana and Pearl Jam to them, but with a more pop-minded sensibility. When you're confronted with this much raw talent, its hard not to get excited.
In April of 2002, Prior Life performed with the National band Less Than Jake at the University of Central Floridas SpringFest in Orlando. SunFest 2002 brought the band back as one of the opening acts for No Doubt, a major milestone for the band. The Palm Beach Post named Prior Life one of the 10 most memorable acts in SunFests 20-year history. In July 2002 the group beat out hundreds of other South Florida bands to win the Buzz/Sam Adams Battle of the Bands, earning them a spot on the bill with Default and Live at the Samuel Adams Summer Jam 2002 in Boston. In October 2002 they were chosen to perform at the University of Florida Music Law Conferences Showcase of Bands in Gainesville. Also in October they opened for Downstem and 3 Doors Down at the UCF Knightfest 2002 in Orlando.
In February 2003, they won the Unsigned Alternative Rock Artist of the Year, which was awarded by the Big Time Talent Show at their annual showcase in Boca Raton. Prior Life is currently working on new material for their next CD release, The Rise of Fall. This alternative rock band is an up and coming group of local teens that is bound to rock you!
